Mini Biographical Sketch
Marlies Bosch is a journalist specialized in women and healthcare issues. She works as a freelance journalist for a variety of newspapers and magazines. Her expertise is based on experience and education in women’s studies and on courses she has been teaching on female health and leadership skills for a variety of women’s organizations in the Netherlands.
Marlies Bosch uses her travels as a source for her photo series about issues like emancipation, Tibetan nuns in Ladakh, education and health care.
On October 7th, 2007, the new book the voice of their bodies was presented at the beginning of the breast cancer awareness month, with 40 interviews with men, women and health care workers.t
In 2006 the photo book light in ladakh uit, (with poems by Marlijn Nijboer) appeared.
In 2005 her photo book on her own experience with breast cancer was published: life of my breasts by j Hanzedruk B.V. in Bolsward.
Untill 2002 Bosch was also a ceramist, and had exhibitions in various art galleries in the Netherlands and abroad. She was forced to give up this art form by lympfodema after her mastectomy.
